About

Mormon World strives to cover the parts of the world where the Mormon Church is just beginning to establish itself and where we feel much of the future growth of the church will occur. In particular Mormon World covers the LDS Church in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.  In addition to focusing on these exciting parts of the world, Mormon World will also cover Mormon Temples, Mormon Politics, LDS Doctrine and “Momoncopia.”

Mormon Church across the Globe

While the LDS Church is firmly established in North and South America and Europe it is in its infancy in much of what consists of Africa, the Middle East and parts of Asia. As such we want to focus on these parts of the world and the stories of African Saints, Middle Eastern foundations and Asian growth both now and into the future.  Not only is there an interest in this but we believe that there are (and will be) many inspirational stories as modern day pioneers from across the globe hear and accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it is brought to them “in their own time and in their own tongue.” So we invite you to follow Mormon World and by extension the lives of African, Middle Eastern and Asian Saints as the Mormon Church begins to lay its foundation in these lands.

Mormon Temples, Politics, Doctrine and Mormoncopia

We fully understand that there are many other very interesting aspects (both for those within and without the LDS Church) of the Mormon Church.  So we will also focus on various other aspects of the church. All aspects of Mormon Temples will be covered including: why they are built, locations of Mormon temples, and without doubt pictures of LDS temples throughout the world. Further, while being strictly faithful and staying with the bounds the Lord has set we will try to clear up some of the misunderstanding surrounding Mormon temple ceremonies. Mormons in politics and the Mormon Church’s policies surrounding political activity is also a topic of much interest and we will strive to clarify the Mormon Church’s relation to political activity and more specifically in certain social issues that may arise.  (For example, the Mormon Church’s involvement in the gay marriage debate in the United States.) Mormon Beliefs are often misunderstood and even sometimes called “weird, odd, strange, and crazy” among other adjectives, so we’ll present them clearly to all of our readers to increase a basic understanding of the doctrines of the LDS Church. Lastly we will have a category we call “Mormoncopia” which will be our miscellaneous Mormon category and all posts not fitting into one of the others will be filed under “Mormoncopia.”

Why Mormon World?

The principle authors and founder of Mormon World are faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who feel strongly about missionary work throughout the world. It is our vision and firm belief that by maintaining the Mormon World blog that not only can we have a real effect on those humbly seeking the truth by producing factual information about the Mormon Church but also to help clarify some of the misconceptions and misunderstanding surrounding the LDS Church.  Furthermore, we believe that by profiling Mormon members throughout the world and the beginnings of the Mormon Church abroad that this website can be a tool in the Lord’s hands to bring more of his sons and daughters unto Jesus Christ.  While respecting those faiths and governments who for now restrict or have no interest in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Mormon World provides people across the globe with information about the Mormon Church in their own country. We respect and agree with the Mormon Church’s policy of not doing missionary work in countries that do not desire it. We do not in any way mean to circumvent this and will not explicitly preach to countries and peoples where the Gospel has not reached yet due to government restrictions or lack of desire on behalf of the people themselves. Despite this we believe that there are many who are now and will be shortly accepting the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and wish to provide them with a resource that hopefully the Spirit will lead them to.  If Mormon World becomes an instrument in the conversion of some of God’s children in these parts of the world  it will be by their own free will and effort to seek it out and commit to the principles of the Gospel.

Our hope and testimony

While fully understanding that the Lord’s timetable is not our own we also know that the Lord is preparing people for the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that it may spread to all nations, kindreds and tongues.  We hope that we can be even a small assistance in this great work. We know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ as restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. We know the priesthood authority and organization of Christ’s Church during his ministry is on Earth again. There are Prophets and Apostles that walk the Earth today and we know them to be men of God. The Book of Mormon and Bible are truly God’s words and will lead us to happiness in this life and the next. We know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and the only way back to the Father. We hope that this website will help others to experience the happiness which we have in our lives as they accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ and come unto Him.
