LDS Beliefs

So what exactly are LDS beliefs? What are Mormon facts and what are Mormon myths or falsehoods? One great example: Do Mormons practice polygamy? (No.) Other examples may include the DNA issue surrounding the Book of Mormon and are Mormons Christian? It’s easy to see how Mormon beliefs are possibly the most widely misunderstood and misconstrued in the entire religious landscape. LDS doctrine centers on four main cornerstones (see related post): the divinity and mission of Jesus Christ, the first vision of the prophet Joseph Smith, The Book of Mormon and priesthood authority from God. Further, divine and continuing revelation would be a main tenet of Mormon theology. There are many other Mormon practices (LDS Word of Wisdom and Mormon tithing to name a couple.) and beliefs of Mormonism which we will strive to simply explain to those interested in learning more about LDS doctrine.

What are words?  It’s what you say face to face to other people.  It’s what you say over the phone, through email or text message.  Though God may not use all of those forms of communication, His words have been left in books called scriptures.

Christians accept the Bible as the word of God, as do [...]
