The Mormon Church has recently entered a new partnership with Dikeme Mutombo and his foundation (The Dikembe Mutombo Foundation) to provide clean water to the Biamba Marie Mutombo Hospital and Research Center in Kinshasa, Congo.

Dikembe Mutombo played in the NBA for 18 years, most recently of the Houston Rockets. He recently retired after injuring his knee in a playoff series against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Dikembe Mutombo is well-known for his charitable activities and his vision for an improved standard of living in Africa where Mutombo hails from.  Mutombo met with LDS Church leaders in Salt Lake City on March 23 of this year to enter the partnership.
