LDS in India Video

March 2, 2009 by DH

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints currently has 7000 members in India, two missions (New Delhi and Bangalore) and 26 congregations.  I’ve written previously of the history of this foundation that is being established in India and even the prophecy of a temple in New Delhi and wanted to share a video I came across of Latter-day Saints in India.

The video is from The World Report which is produced by The LDS Church and is released semiannually at General Conference time. It talks a little about the members in India as well as the Church’s humanitarian involvement within India.  Enjoy!

thanks for posting that – it was especially interesting to see about a country we don`t usually think of when we mention the church!

    Namakemono-
Until I really started blogging I didn’t think India has anything to do with the LDS Church either. But since I’ve started looking into it you can truly see the Lord preparing this super-populous land for the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Glad you enjoyed the video. Please share the blog/video with those you like and/or by the social media buttons. The more that know about the blog/video, the more good we can do!
    Thanks for visiting

I would like to know where I can obtain a copy of the Gospel Principles manual and the Book of Mormon in punjabi.

Your best bet is to try the LDS Distribution Center.

    Hope that helps.

  1. [...] The Kuwait Branch of The Bahrain Manama Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is yet another example of the (very) small but growing presence of Mormons in the Middle East.  Most members in the Middle East are expatriate members working abroad or Mormons serving in the military that meet in local church units, though there are local members in some of these congregations.  Further there has been some missionary work in the past in the Middle East, such as the Tehran Iran Mission. There are also Mormons serving in the military who hold Mormon church services in Afghanistan and Iraq and Mormons in Dubai. Finally if you want to go a little farther East, the LDS Church has a small presence in Pakistan and the growth of the Mormon Church in India is impressive. [...]
